This week's idea was suggested by ???.
Sev Trek: The Comic Strip

This week: Spook's catchphrase! Spook seemed to pop out his "fascinating", even Quirk started to get annoyed by it. But what other catchphrase can a Velcron use and still maintain his stoic dignity?

Other Punchlines

These comics are created from the winning entries of Sev Trek TV Cartoon Contest. The winning punchline was written by Lordy. You can read the transcript of the IRC session where we decided the winner of all the competitions as well as the finalist punchlines and Punchlines of the Day.

thpptt

How about, Vulcanating?

Steve

I guess vulcron sarcasm is hard to detect.

Steve

You misheard, I said "fast at mating" referring to you, sir.

KSheff

I will once the writers find their Thesaurus.

DarkSabre

Because you aren't able to pronounce it with the pauses in your speech

47 of 1701

How about "Arrrgh, we're all going to die!"?

Mr. Spork

The vulcan brain: a puzzle wrapped in an enigma, housed in a cranium.

Mr. Spork

When life gives you oranges make orange-aid.

DRAGONDOG2

Gee Whiz just didn't cut it.

Mark

Being emotional about catch phrases is illogical.

J/C'ers have NO chance

The day you lose the rug is the day I'll change my catchphrase, Captain

Michael

I could try "My God, could you be more stupid?"

6 out of 6

how bout...."wowzerz!"....or "Funkily Dunkily!".....or "Neato Burrito".....

KnOcKoFf

"This is facinatingly facinating!"

Cmdr. Solomon

I'm sorry, Captain. The Implausible translator is on the blink and I don't speak chimp.

I, Android

I am 'Unable to comply.'

Svenneaut

Would you like me to yell: "Whoa, KEWL!"?

Vicki

I had considered "Where ever you go, there you are " but it seemed a bit too lengthy.

Vicki

"Oh-bla dee, oh-bla da" was already taken.

taco

Fascinating! I never thought of this.

Captain Carolyn Smith of the USS Excelsior

oh, and "Beam me up Squatty" is soooo great.

Captain Carolyn Smith of the USS Excelsior

At least I can keep my shirt together for more than 5 minutes

Dahar Master Kor

I already get more fan mail than you do, Captain. I see no need for change.

Sindak

You are a FASCINATING idiot.

Sesspit

Spiffy

Haesan

I considered "Coolness!", but it's SO 22nd century.

Chameleon Rose

I had another but it did not pas the PC DIRECTIVE.

Paul Correa

Dammit Gym, I'm a Velcron, not a smartass

Derek

Captivating.

hahahehe

How about "tedious"?

MindMelda

Okay, how's this: Totally bitchin supernova, Captain Dude.

Scott McClenny

Well it would look silly if I said: "Gym you got some 'splainin' to do!" every time we ran into an anomaly, now wouldn't it?

Zeta

Have you ever heard a vulcan say "cool"

Latin From Manhattan

Pardon me, sir, but the slow rate at which you speak forces me to utilize a quick, catchy phrase that will be heard before the viewing audience falls asleep.

Christopher

I'm surrounded by idiots. Humans, I mean.

Christopher

Irrelevant, but mildly interesting.

Luigi Novi

Don't dis me, or ah'll open up a can of WHOOPASS on you!

Delta Flyer

I am a science officer,not a dictionary.

Bill Harris

How about "bi-de-bi-de-bi-de-bi-de"?

Crazy Velcron

The ratings are more important than the catch phrase of the one

Bobby

I tried to think of another one once, all it did was give me a headache

Potswilly

Don't be dissin' me, man!

Potswilly

Gym, your obsession with the trivial is, well- fascinating!

Jos Litjens

Fascinatingly enough, I can not.

AT

That is an utterly intriguing, interesting, and engaging question, Captain.

Ilta

For some reason, "Golly gee, that's a real heavy mind trip" never caught on.

Ilta

Humans seem obsessed with catchprhases. Fascinating.

Griffin

But I can't think of a better word to describe your hair.

Heather

I shall ponder this groovy concept, Captain.

Jack Hammerfist

Elementary, my dear captain!

Jack Hammerfist

Not on this salary!

Jack Hammerfist

This is 2300, all the good ones were taken!

Jack Hammerfist

Catching phrases is-- ILLOGICAL!

mgeoffrey

What? The word means to possess the power to charm or allure. That is you.

silverpanther

No, but I have a fascinating theory

Ellis

Gnitanicsaf...

Latin From Manhattan

I must limit myself to a single-word catchphrase out of respect for the limited intelligence of my human crewmates.

Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater

REALLY fascinating

Naomi

Taking into account the impact to the space-time continuum and the effect it would have on our ratings, the likelihood of such an occurence is minimal.

Naomi

If you were to stand on your head and whistle, I might call that "astonishing."

Naomi

Would you rather me say, "Golly gee, that's neat?"

Naomi

Logic is ninety-nine percent monotony and one percent discovery.

9 of 12

It seemed more appropriate than "Woah, Dude!"

Janak Desai

how about .......'aww nuts'!

P Swayne

That's a big 10-4, good buddy!

Mike

First, you come up with a better catchphrase than "my room or yours?"

Nodrog_CRC

Fascinating. Fasc-I-Nating. Faaaaaaaaaascinating. It appears I cannot.

§Sean§

Allow me to consult my thesaurus Captain

Dathon

Fascinating... your fixation on fascinating is most fascinating, Captain

Quonous

It's not a catchphrase. I'm just so dull, I find everything Fascinating.

Trevor Raggatt

I'd remind you it's a catchphrase, not a pickup line!

Nodrog_CRC

Ok... Show me more of this Earth thing you call 'catch phrasing'.

Nodrog_CRC

I canna do it, captain! I canna rewrite the rules of catch-phrasing!

Nodrog_CRC

Ask not for whom the catchphrase was written, it was written for me.

ggb

It is the least I can accept and the most you can understand.

Elim

I appologise, Captain. I will use another Vulcan swear word.

Kellman

Yes but the chances of you understanding are slim.

the giraffe

Watchu talkin' 'bout JImmy???

Eskiebear

I tried "Rock'n Man, Far Out!", but I felt as stupid as you look.

Haesan

May I suggest "Hold on to your toupee's!", captain.

????

At first I tried "totally bodaceous, dude" but the Velcro elders threatened to exile me

P-feif

How would you like a Velcron neck pinch?

Gammabond

Indubitably.

Mike

I would if I could, but I can't so I won't

Nico

It suits me - as 'predictable' suits you.

Duke of Earl Grey

Spook: You don't think "Hipsville, Daddy-O!" sounds too dated?

Weirdman

An what would you perfer? Alrighty Then.

E-Nice

Fascin...err..I mean...Interesting.

Gregory Griffiths

Captain, can't you come up with a better toupee?

Gregory Griffiths

How about 'sevinating'?

Grantman

"Nanoo Nanoo" was taken.

valerie p

I presume hair raising is off limits?

Theodore Moser

How about this: Shut-up!

Dr What

It's better than "Wow, that flips my pancake!"

The sadly irrepresible Ted Rebo

I suppose I could go back to the colorful metaphors, you _____ , ____ _'__ ___ , sir.

sigkjartans

"Infuriating" might be more appropriate.

Dak

I didn't think you'd appreciate "you da man" shouted after each mission.

Pizman

Fascinating. Better catchphrases....I must consider.

Tylan

Illogical!

TTFNRob

That would be illogical Captain

T'Bonz

OK, from now on - it's gonna be "Check THIS out!"

T'Bonz

Can't you come up with a better line than "my place or yours"?

T'Bonz

Can't YOU stop chasing women incessantly?

T'Bonz

groovy, cool, bitchin', gnarly, awesome, bad...shall I go on?

T'Bonz

I'd prefer Groovy, but it'll make folks cringe 30 years from now

Art DeBuigny

I'm saving 'Incredible' for when you learn to speak without pausing.

Art DeBuigny

Fabulous!.... no... Amazing!.... naaa.... Gnarly.... certainly not!.... Intriguing!.... Yeah!!!!

erik

You mean one as "engage"-ing as yours?

Air CB

I thought you told me to stop using "Colorful Metaphors."

OneWay

Fascinating observation Captain.

Rabbit

Can't you come up with better speaking or directing skills?

Rabbit

Hey, it fills up the gaps in your speaking style.

spiffy

Doctor McCorduroy has the good lines.

spiffy

I have three levels of excitement: logical, illogical, & fascinating.

peter

And.. Why... Do... You... Talk... Like... Every... Word... Is... Its... Own.... Sentence

erik

I've been working on one. What do you think of "Live wrong and prosper"?

Rhea Stone

(sung to roger and hamerstien) Oh, I'm the very model of a modern sev fleet science officer. The scientific oddity provides for a multitude of responcitivity. As a logicial being who doesnt much social dating. The only phrase that comes to mind is the word fascinating.

Will Etienne

I'll make it so.

Dave the Explosive Newt

Captain, I find it fascinating that you are fascinated by my fascination with fascinating.

erik

Look who's talking, Mr. "Engage."

erik

The grandiloquence of "Engage" supercedes my conversational abilities.

Polgara

Would you prefer "groovy" ?

Trevor Raggatt

Bodacious suggestion, Captain

Polgara

Perhaps "unbelievable" WOULD be more appropriate.

Polgara

If it works, don't fix it.

The Penguin Weekly

After McCoy does.

LC

I just can't compete with "Dammit Gym"

The Penguin Weekly

I canna take it anymore!

The Penguin Weekly

He's braindead, Gym.

The Penguin Weekly

**Raises Eyebrow**

Polgara

Okay, how about "wig-raising"? Or "girdle-popping"?

The Penguin Weekly

Thar be Klingoffs here!

The Penguin Weekly

Interesting.

MindMelda

I suppose you would prefer ill-timed overly-dramatic pauses?

Elf

I`m a scientist, not a linguist.

Elf

Yes, but I`m saving it for "The Voyeur Home"

MindMelda

How about "Neat-o"?

MindMelda

Whassup! was already taken.

MindMelda

I tried "Groovey" but it makes me sound dated.

Lordy

Its more versatile than "d`oh!"

Lordy

This isnt a reference to "Wazzup!" is it captain?

Lordy

Why? Its possibly the best catchphrase in the world.

Lordy

At least its better than having to buy new shirts every episiode.

Lordy

I`m sorry but I have never felt that it was "a good day to die".

Elf

I can translate it in Velcron if you want.

Brian

The doctor has dibs on "He's dead, Jim."

Ruth (from Canada)

No, by Grapthar's Hammer, I can't.

Number 0

Fascinating idea, captain

Bill Harris

Sir, no matter how much you liked it on "Gomer Pyle", I refuse to say "shazam"!

Keith

No, I cannot. Fascinating.

Keith

Catchiness is illogical.

Corsair

I don't think most viewers would understand "Oh, SEV!".

Stacy Duke

I have come up with several others, but I must wait until Pon farr to use them.

Corsair

How about "What? Me Worry?" ?

Adam

How about 'Dude!'

Bootnell

The word is simply fascinating.

Corsair

Can't YOU come up with a better hairpiece than that?

Corsair

I didn't think "Gee Whiz" would befit a Velcron.

Corsair

Somebody has to be the Break-out Character here...

Corsair

What?! And...talk...like...You?

Corsair

"Facinating" has the appropriate annoyance factor I am looking for.

Corsair

I'm trying to avoid being Typecast.

Emeraldax

"Dammit Jim!" was already taken.

Syn Tehol

Most illogic

The Great Wizzard

I don't need no -ing catchphrases.

Sirrta

Oh brother

The Great Wizzard

One-dimensional character are only allowed one catchphrase. That of course raises the question why you have zero catchphrases, Captain...

ilfje

Humour, a difficult concept

ilfje

I could, but don't expect it to be any better then 'interesting'.

ilfje

I'm sorry sir, but the producers put my character development on a hold.

The Great Wizzard

I think that "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" is a bit too long.

ScottE Bemeup

Henceforth I will exclaim "Gnarly".

ScottE Bemeup

Actually, I switched to "flatulating" a week ago.

The Great Wizzard

Sorry. My creativity has been drained as a consequence from working with and especially under morons.

ScottE Bemeup

I have been considering "double dumb-ass".

ScottE Bemeup

Perhaps you would prefer "Woah."

The Great Wizzard

As soon as I find one which isn't copyright protected.

The Great Wizzard

Don't have a cow, man!

The Great Wizzard

Sufferin' Succotash!

The Great Wizzard

Sorry Captain, crude or lewd catchphrases are not considered.

The Great Wizzard

As soon as you come up with minimal acting skills.

The Great Wizzard

Whoah! Excellent, dude!

The Great Wizzard

How about "Ay, caramba!"?

jecoil

Eat my shorts.

jecoil

Would "Gnarly, dude" be more to your liking?

The Great Wizzard, having fired up a Thesaurus :=)

Hmm... "charming", "attractive", "enthralling", "mesmerizing", "captivating", "interesting", "absorbing", "intriguing", "beguiling", "appealing", "alluring", "enticing", "spellbinding". No, not so good.

The Great Wizzard

Copyright infringement laws.

The Great Wizzard

I have the feeling that "Yippeeeee!" will cause a lot of groans.

The Great Wizzard

Dr McCorduroy has copyrighted "He's dead, Gym", Squatty has copyrighted "I canna change the laws o'physics". "Fascinating" is all that was left

The Great Wizzard

Fascinating [pause] subject.

spiffy

"Holy Toledo, Batman" was already taken.

spiffy (hoping this isn't lewd or crude)

How about "@#@! fascinating?"

spiffy

Which "colorful metaphor" shall I use with fascinating?

JC

Somehow "Cowabunga" did not seem appropriate.
