First of all, let me state some bad points (sorry...). The story is a bit thin, but as in the original, that is not really a problem. There are also some nitpicking errors (spontanous ensign spawning). Secondly, the best jokes were in the trailer. You had about 5 jokes in 2 minutes or so, and they were good. Now the jokes are a little bit more spread out, so the trailer gives a bit a wrong impression. But then the good points (mind you, for the above paragraph, I had to think a lot...): The drawings are excellent, the parody of the characters is well thought out, and most of all, I liked the 3d. Lip-syncing seems ok, and the sound effects were good. I had a good laugh when first viewing, and expect some more when seeing it again. I'm also planning to show it to some friends, so I guess that's a compliment too. All in all, it was really Sev come alive. Some jokes were 'old' for Sev diehards (like the counseling session for Will at the beginning), but it was nice to see it acted out. One final word of applause for the voice actors (especially Wally Fields). Very good, and sounds almost like the originals. I give this movie a 4 out of 5. It's a recommended buy if you are a Sev lover, or even just a Star Trek lover. If you are into 3d modelling or cartooning, you'll also enjoy this movie.
