Q: When will the movie be released?
A: You can Pre-Order the video from April 26 to receive a 20% discount. The video is officially released on May 24. All pre-ordered videos will be posted out on May 24.

Q: How long is the movie?
A: 40 minutes long (eg - similar in format to an hour long, 5 Act Television episode) with 1 minute of bloopers over the end credits.

Q: In what form will the movie be released?
A: We will be releasing the movie on VHS video. It will be available in Pal (Australian format) and NTSC (USA and most other countries format).

Q: Will it come out on DVD or Video CD?
A: Not at this stage. Personally, I think the idea of behind-the-scenes footage and commentary on DVD is cool but the movie would have to be fantastically popular and in huge demand for us to afford to rerelease it on DVD (to render it at the higher DVD resolution along is a huge undertaking). As for Video CD, we have decided against this format as it makes the movie too easy to copy and distribute online.

Q: Can I get the video in my area?
A: If you order the video online from Sev Shop, we will ship to any area in the world. So yes, we will ship to your area. However, if you mean can you buy it from a local store - very doubtful. Read the next answer for more details...

Q: How can I buy a copy?
A: It will be exclusively available from this website (Sev Shop).

We are exploring the possibility of distributing it to convention dealers, comic bookstores and video stores later on. If you know of any stores (eg - scifi or comic book) or convention dealers in your local area that might be interested, please email me their URL/email address. Also, if you're part of a fan club, you can organise a bulk order which will give you great discounts. Email me for more info.

Q: Who's making the movie?
A: Find out everyone involved in production at the Sev Trek Movie Crew page.

Q: What animation software do you use?
A: The software Andrew uses to create and animate the 3D models is Animation Master. Find out more from Andrew's website.

Q: Can I do any voices in the movie?
A: All voices have been recorded. Most of the voices were done by the very talented voice impersonator WEIRD Wally Fields. Other actors involved are listed in the Sev Trek Movie Crew. If we make another movie, I will announce auditions on the website so stay tuned! :-)

Q: Do you need permission from Paramount to do this?
A: The Sev Trek movie is a parody of Star Trek and doesn't infringe on any copyright. As long as I'm careful to make it clear it can't be passed of as official Star Trek and I don't copy their storylines, as parody, it's completely safe.

Q: Can I get the trailer in video format?
A: If you're interested in downloading a TV rez version of the latest trailers (they're over 20 meg), email me for the URL.

Q: Will there be any movies based on other series?
A: I have actually written a script for a second Sev Trek movie (hiding hints about it in Pus in Boots) and I have written story outlines for many other Sev Trek movies across all the series (including some pretty cool crossovers). However, whether we produce other movies after this one will definitely depend on how the first one goes. So make sure you buy a copy and tell all your friends about it! :-)

Q: Why the Pus in Boots story?
A: I chose to do the Pus in Boots story because it was the most visual story I'd written and translates well to an animation. In fact, this story suits animation better than a still cartoon. The original online Pus in Boots story comprises less than a third of the final movie.

Q: Will/can the movie be translated into other languages?
A: There are no plans to provide translations of the Sev Trek movie. This is a huge undertaking, organising the voices of a range of people to do each character, and unfortunately well beyond our capacity at this point in time.

Q: Can I download the trailer at TV resolution?
A: Yes. The TV resolution trailer is 720 x 576 pixels with 16 bit sound. It's 41 Meg when zipped but if you can accept an email that large, email me and I'll email you back the file. Please let me know what you want it for (we particularly welcome TV channels to broadcast the trailer if interested).
